I promised that after I receive more than 10 comments on the image "Geometric Serendipity" that I would tell you the story about the girl in Mexico. Sometimes art gets created over many years. The story that led to this image unfolded over a period of about 20 years! It goes back to traditional photography and taking pictures with an old fashioned 35 mm SLR. I don't know how long it took me to create the image below. Also, I don't know if I'd be able to recreate it if my life depended upon it! You can read the story by clicking on the link below:
Take the journey!

Very Well done, I'ed like to see more of your work!
I wonder what would be of the girl twenty years later: where she lives (if she does) and what she does for living.
I imagine she's married & she may have a daugther just like the one in the pictures.
I believe the picture has non an specific time of existence. The photograph could've been taken yesterday or tomorrow.
The girl and Guanajuato have not change that much.
The collage is a mixture of tradition and evolution of mathematics and social photograph.
It makes you think.
I love the picture of the tiny girl next to the large image of the city. She seems so tiny. Makes you want to write a poem. Great shot Steve!
Lady Mariposa
Reminds me of a recent experience. There is a lady that lives two blocks away in a beautiful, enormous, victorian house. She has three vehicles, one an old rusty car. I saw her at the "Saint Francis House." I wondered if she did volunteer work at that homeless shelter. That night I dreamed I had talked to her and asked her what she was doing at the "Saint Francis House." She said her brother lived there but she felt so bad about it she didn't want to discuss it. The dream was so real I actually thought it had happened. I realize it is true we are all brothers and sisters but we hate to think or talk about those in need.
I'm going to post a poem that illudes to that:
Where will I go when I die?
Will I be part of thee whom I dispise?
Will I be broken up
as particles of dust
And scattered in the wind
throughout the universe.
Will I feel your anguish
as we lie out in the rain
Wishing there was somewhere
to shelter from the pain.
Will I feel the hunger pangs
as we sadly turn away.
Wishing there was some way
to make you look our way.
Will I hang my head in shame
as the pain shoots through our vein.
Will I cry myself to sleep
or be too numb to weep.
Will the terror of the night make me tremble with such fright,
Will the fear that wells within, make me want to scream.
Will my eyes be finally open,
will I hang my head in shame.
Little did I imagine,
I was the source of all that pain.
Rita B.
She is a blade upon the earth;
her every step has drawn a line,
into the life she knows is worth
as much as any grand design.
As much as those who live in castles,
as much as one who will not starve.
She is a blade upon this earth;
with unknown destinies to carve.
